How Do I Find Out If Money Is Owed To Me

Throughout centuries of fashion, there have been moments both fabulous and disastrous. From high fashion fails that pushed creativity a little too far to retail clothing catastrophes that accidentally made it to the shelves, bad fashion seems to lurk everywhere. Prepare yourself to experience the worst modern fashion fails.

This Unhelpful Hood

When the people over at the Anti-Animal Abuse Club were designing this bad boy, a hood likely sounded like a harmless addition. After all, those who would wear it might like a bit of added protection for those long days of walking rescue dogs or cleaning out kennels.

Little did they realize, however, that this hood had plans of its own. Should the wearer of this sweatshirt refuse to utilize its offerings, they unknowingly step out looking like enemy number one of all things furry. Good thing someone caught it before PETA was called in.

This Mickey Mouse sweatshirt begs so many questions, it's hard to know where to start. It seems pretty clear that the woman who brought it along on this particular outing didn't quite think through the implications of wrapping it around her lower torso.

But even if it were worn correctly, what's Mickey trying to get at here? If this print's location is on the front of the shirt, wouldn't his choice of pose be just as nefarious on her chest? Get it together Mickey! This is not your finest hour.

This Foxy Number

Fox fur has long been a favorite accessory of the upper class. Though the fashion industry has evolved to the point that most fur accents are of the faux variety these days, a well-placed trim can still add a nice bit of flare to a coat or scarf.

However, the designer of this hat/scarf contraption either didn't get the memo that less is better or just doesn't care. When strutting down the street, it's generally not advisable to rock anything that could cause others to mistake you for an escaped zoo bear.

The Dangers of Knock-Offs

Okay, so we've all enjoyed the fun of stumbling across a knock-off that looks exactly like a fashion brand item. After all, who doesn't want to save a few bucks by buying an identical piece of clothing at a nice discount?

When you do stumble across that gem on the clearance rack, however, make sure you give it a good look before hitting the checkout line. As this photo demonstrates, not all knock-offs are created equally, and some counterfeiters apparently have a sense of humor. Tiny as the logo is, it's definitely not something you'd wanna miss.

Literal Camel Shoes

When shopping, everyone occasionally comes across things that are simply not our style. Other times, people come across things that are just plain ugly. But rare are the moments when a piece of fashion appears that's so terrible you'd be hard-pressed to find a single person who would ever voluntarily wear it.

Unfortunately, these shoes have managed to land themselves squarely in the last category. They seem to have drawn their inspiration from the feet of a camel and in no way appear to be made for a human foot.

These Feet Pants

If there's one woman in the history of fashion who seems incapable of doing wrong, it's J-Lo. Among the most beautiful women in the world, she could pretty much step out wearing a plastic bag and still be gorgeous. That said, these jean boots came dangerously close to destroying her streak.

Photo Courtesy: Josiah Kamau/BuzzFoto and Gotham/GC Images via Getty Images

While they might have been okay had they just stuck to being denim slouchy boots, the little belt loops and belts on the top are just too much. The juxtaposition of white shirt, skin and belted denim also have the unfortunate effect of mimicking a plumber bending over.

High Waisted Pants: You're Doing It Wrong

Women seem to go back and forth on the merits of high waisted pants over the decades. On one hand, they can help suck in your midsection and add a little length to your legs. On the other, something about them screams "mom jeans."

This guy, however, has taken things to a whole new level entirely. Whether he took his love of that slimming effect too far or he was merely attempting to hide a shirt he accidentally shrunk in the dryer, no one can say.

The Emoji From Hell

We get it, emojis are in. It makes sense that clothing retailers would seek to capitalize on this fact by working them into clothing designs. Unfortunately, the brilliant idea you see here was not exactly without its hilariously obvious problems.

Rather than the playful take on "Hello" that was probably intended, this shirt looks more like something you'd pick up in the Hades gift shop. That said, you've got to admit this might be a fun item to "innocently" wear on your next trip to see the in-laws. Show up with a smile and wait for the fun to begin.

The T-Shirt Shirt

It's an irony of fashion that the more expensive an item is, the more bizarre it's allowed to be. The Balenciaga creation you see here is called the T-Shirt Shirt, and its price tag is a cool $1,290. The concept is that you can choose to wear either shirt and always have a spare.

The downside, of course, is that the one you don't select is forced to hang limply from your body throughout the entire day. Save your cash and make your own with superglue if you must try this bizarre look out.

Cowboy Boot Sandals

Steel yourself as you prepare to behold what's been called the mullet of shoes. What do you do if you get the urge to spend the day at the pool while deep in the bowels of Texas? Well, apparently this.

It seems that someone out there designed a pair of sandals made to masquerade as cowboy boots. Now you too can enjoy the fun of rocking open toes while visiting the beach, lake or anywhere else without having to drop your cowboy persona for even a second. Yeehaw.

Unfortunately Placed Logos

At first glance, these ladies seem to simply be enjoying the fun of a grueling marathon. If you look closer at the logos on their shirts, however, you'll notice that something is a little off. This is particularly the case when you can only see the top half of the shirt.

The raised hands and heads of the adults in the logo are placed in such a way as to mimic, uh, well, it's pretty obvious. Once seen, the flaw in these shirts can never be unseen.

The Urinal Robe

When you see certain pieces of clothing, you're immediately struck by how cool or stylish they are. By contrast, the only word that's likely to come to most people's minds when they get a load of this piece is "why?"

It seems that at some point in the annals of fashion history, some genius designer got the idea to dress a woman up as a urinal. Let's just pray she didn't wear this get-up to the bar after the show where it could have gone so wrong, so quickly.

These Brand New Filthy Shirts

If you came across one of these shirts at the store, you'd be tempted to alert the nearest sales rep to its presence on the rack. At first glance, it appears that it was clearly the victim of someone who ate the world's greasiest cheeseburger or changed their oil while trying it on in the dressing room.

The truly disturbing part comes when you realize that there are two and that the first is, therefore, no mistake. It seems that someone took the whole "distressed" look a tad too far.

Ripped Jeans Gone Wrong

Ripped jeans are one of those trends that come in and out every couple of years. They're a great way to add a little skin to your outfit or infuse it with a bit of attitude. Unfortunately, a poorly placed rip can be a fashion disaster waiting to happen.

This is especially true with rips in skinny jeans. Beware any skin-hugging pants that sport rips above the knee, as your thighs may change shape when seated. Always try them on both standing and seated before making your purchase. And if the jeans have as many rips as this pair, just say no.

The Double Cowboy Boot

Once upon a time, on a runway far away, there was an incredibly confused pair of cowboy boots. These Hood By Air creations ambled out at New York Fashion Week back in 2016 and remain among the most questionable pieces of clothing ever produced.

Imagine sitting down in a public restroom and seeing these things staring out from under the stall next to you. Maybe they're made as a prop for those prone to randomly falling backward while standing? The world may never know, and perhaps it's for the best.

An Accidentally Pessimistic Message

Odds are that you may have seen this not-so-motivational shirt before, as it's been popping up in various retail stores lately. If you were one of the many who couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at its design, then rest assured that you're not alone.

While it was probably intended to encourage you to leave your worries behind, it's layout wasn't exactly the most effective. If, however, you happen to be a fan of excessive worry, then you may want to pick one up from a clearance rack near you.

Vertical Hat

Just when you thought there couldn't possibly be any new ways to wear a hat, someone out there came up with this number. The only downside of this new take is that it completely destroys every reason you'd ever actually wear a hat.

Photo Courtesy: Borja B. Hojas/WireImage via Getty Images

This hat brings the aesthetic of a fencing or aikido mask without any of the protection from melee weapons. While it might be perfect for teenagers looking to hide their acne, this one isn't likely to take to the mainstream any time soon.

The Box Shirt

The look on this model's face pretty much says it all. Imagine fighting your way to the top and finally gaining a place as a model in a prestigious fashion show. What do they give you to wear? Not a gorgeous ball gown or the latest shoes, but a box.

Seriously, you can't make this stuff up. (Not counting 2001's Zoolander, of course.) Whether they were a little short on clothes that day or were going for a DIY look, this poor girl was forced to strut out looking like the present table at a kid's birthday party.

You Had One Job

There are some fashion trends that push the bounds of functionality in order to achieve a certain look. Then there are things that you can't help but believe had to have been a legit error. Such is the case of this shirt and shorts combo.

This piece of men's athletic attire appears to have had an identity crisis halfway through the creation process. Is it a shirt? Is it shorts? Not even the piece itself knows. Maybe you could tuck in the sleeves and enjoy the world's longest, most ineffective pockets.

This Walking Laundry Load

You can't help but believe that there's got to be a story behind this enigmatic display. Perhaps this guy arrived to the show really tired and attempted to take a stealthy nap beneath a pile of discarded men's shirts. When awakened by the guy in the huge tie behind him, maybe he simply stood up and went with it.

The other, less fortunate option, is that some fashion designer was really stuck when coming up with new ideas. Mistaking a pile of laundry for brilliance, he sent it out on the runway and hoped for the best.

Mighty Morphin' Kitten Socks

If you're a cat lover, then it's quite possible you're used to being presented with gifts featuring all manner of felines. Should you ever receive a pair of these kitten socks, however, you may want to wait until you get home before taking them for a test drive.

It seems that the designers of these things didn't account for how their creations could shift when actually worn. These kittens seem to have the power to magically morph into a Star Wars creature that didn't make the final film cut.

Mario's Final Fate

Oh boy. If you're shopping for a small child who happens to be a fan of Mario, then this may or may not be the route you want to go. It looks like everyone's favorite Nintendo character may have had a rough night at the bar immediately before becoming this bizarre jacket for kids.

While the attempt to crochet him into life as a hoodie was admirable, it seems like he accidentally fell out of his Mario cart and ended up looking more like roadkill. Best to opt for a print version.

Turd Shirt

Have you ever noticed how the designers behind most of Target's graphic tees seem to think women all love shirts that proclaim their love of dogs and various alcohols? Every now and then, however, you'll see one that mixes things up by celebrating something like the weekend as well.

This shirt celebrating the joy of Saturday may not have turned out exactly as planned. By opting for large print, the designers unknowingly sent it out into the world proclaiming "turd" any time the wearer decided to wear a jacket.

These Overly Ripped Jeans

Did we say the last pair of jeans was too torn? These jeans are too torn. You see things like this, and you can't help but suspect that someone at the jeans factory just wanted to see what they could get away with.

They probably used most of the legs for J-Lo's weird slouchy denim boots and decided they had nothing to lose by attempting to sell the leftovers. Ladies, should you come across such an item while shopping, please do us all a favor and run screaming into the night.

The Painting Necklace. Collar. Thing.

This happened once at a fashion event meant to celebrate the return of We TV's Bridezillas. Considering the subject matter, it actually almost works. The piece seems like it should be titled, How to Get kicked Out of the Met and features a woman who obviously had a few too many before strolling into the museum.

After accidentally stumbling into a painting and ripping out its heart, she appears to have decided to try and pass it off as the necklace she wore in. You can almost hear her saying, "I'm fine!"

These Bear Pants

When it comes to men's fashion, it's understandable that designers might find it a bit tricky to keep reinventing something as basic as athletic pants. That's why someone at Adidas went far beyond narrowing the leg or adding stripes and went in another direction altogether.

Here you have the Adidas Teddy Bear Pant, which oddly enough is not as original as you probably think. First worn by Flea Red of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, someone thought these things deserved a comeback. At least they're useful if you want to dress up as a Toys R' Us for Halloween.

This Terrifying Display

If you want to make absolutely certain that no one follows you too closely while walking down the street, then this is the look for you. You may initially draw in people walking toward you who'd like a better look at your happy little wings or randomly pink hair.

Rest assured, however, you're sure to lose them when they realize what horrors await them at your backpack's center. Whether this was a fashion choice or the world's best defense against getting purse-snatched, who's to say? Maybe it was a brilliant mixture of both.

All About Them Washingtons

It's become a celebrated tradition that the streets outside of pretty much any fashion week now provide just as many opportunities to view eclectic fashion trends as the runway. While this sometimes turns out to be a captivating sight, other times, it proves to be a tad bizarre.

Here you see what may either be a woman dressed as a money clip or a giant money clip dressed as a woman. Assuming it's the first, you have to wonder why she didn't at least spring for a bill higher than a dollar?

The Blimp Look

Let's start at the top and work our way down, shall we? Perhaps the first lesson we can learn here is that any hat that increases your odds of being mistaken for a Canadian Mountie is ill-advised. While the 3D glasses you stole from AMC may work with some outfits, the tracksuit here pulls too much attention.

In addition to the color, it makes this person look like they could float away at any time. Do they have a built-in fan inside keeping that thing inflated? And where are they going dressed like that, anyway?

The Big Bird Knock-Off

Last but not least, let's look at this colorful winter ensemble. While this girl's head and neck are undoubtedly warm, she also runs the stark risk of being mistaken for an escaped member of Sesame Street or The Muppets franchise.

Photo Courtesy: Victor VIRGILE/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images

A little bit of fluff goes a long way when it comes to winter attire, but overdoing it may risk being approached by enraged children who believe you've scalped Big Bird. When accessorizing for the cooler months, it's probably best to stick to more conventional items to keep you warm.
